Joy to the World is one of the most popular Christmas carols ever written. It It may have been adapted from a melody by the great baroque composer George Frideric Handle and it is often attributed to him. However, the melody was probably composed by the American musician and educator Lowell Mason. The lyrics were written by the English hymn writer Isaac Watts who lived from 1674 to 1748. This arrangement of Joy to the World is written with beginner clarinetists in mind, and is in the lower register of the instrument.
